Food Service Director Cafeteria Cheryl has been employed in the foodservice department of CBU since 1984. Since Chartwells began in 1990 she has been part of many new and exciting changes. Cheryl has been an important part of Cafeteria and Catering services here at CBU. Her most recent accomplishment was to oversee the opening of Harriss Hall. |

Jason Bailey
Head Chef Harriss Hall Jason has become a favourite among students and co-workers alike. His abilities allow him to put people at ease while maintaining a busy kitchen. Jason’s career began at the Culinary Institute of Canada in which he graduated in 1996. Jason has worked in many of Cape Breton’s best restaurants and currently runs The Miner’s Museum Restaurant in Glace Bay. Jason is a valuable asset to Chartwells in which he has been employed with for the past 6 years. |

Gordon Doughart

Chef Manager Harriss Hall Gordon is originally from Prince Edward Island where he graduated from the Culinary Institute of Canada in 1997. Gordon has worked in many settings including fine dining, country inns and high volume restaurants. Gordon has worked with Food Network Chef, Michael Smith, at the nationally recognized Inn at Bay Fortune. Locally Gordon was the former Chef of Days Inn Sydney as well as The Savoury Gourmet (Sydney’s Upscale Catering Choice). Gordon was hired by Chartwells to help with the launch of Harriss Hall as well to bring fresh ideas and experiences to CBU. |
