FAQ

CAN I CARRY MY DINING PLAN FORWARD PER YEAR OR TERM?

All mandatory residence dining plans expire when residences close in April. Voluntary block plans will carry over. Please check with our Laurentian University Housing and Food Service office (West Residence) for complete details.

CAN I TAKE FOOD OUT OF THE DINING HALL?

Sorry, you are not allowed to take food out of the Great Hall. If your classes are located at the McEwen School of Architecture on Elm Street in downtown Sudbury, or if you have back-to-back classes throughout the lunch period (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM), you can pre-order a boxed-lunch for take-out. Please stop by the Chartwells office (Great Hall foyer) to learn how.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CARD IS LOST OR STOLEN?

Report your lost or stolen card to the J.N. Desmarais Library or at the Chartwells office (Great Hall Foyer) so that the missing card can be deactivated and a new one issued.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY CARD?

Your activated student card is the key to the whole dining plan system. If you forget it you will have to pay cash to gain access to the dining hall.  The security of a card remains the cardholder’s responsibility. If a card is lost or stolen the cardholder is responsible for all charges made to that card until the card is reported lost or stolen. A card can be reported lost or stolen at the Chartwells office (Great Hall Foyer).

IS MY MEAL PLAN REFUNDABLE?

No, meal plans are non-refundable. Refunds can be given on tax exempt plans if a student officially withdrawals from school, however a $50.00 administration fee will apply, and the refund will be prorated. Voluntary block plans can be carried over. Certain conditions apply.
