How it Works?
Our meal plans are based on a declining cash balance system, similar to a debit card. Menu items are priced individualy and you are only charged for the food you select. We have a variety of plans to choose from, and it is up to the individual to choose what plan they think will best suit their specific needs. Before choosing a meal plan always consider eating habits, and time on campus to asses which plan will work best.
The initial balance is placed on the Campus OneCard in September and the student simply presents this card to pay for their purchases which is then deducted from the balance. Purchases can be made from any 12 University Food Service operations and $100 can be used in the Corner Store in the Hotel Alma.
It's easy to add funds to your meal plan if you're running low, at anytime additional increments of $100 are accepted at the Residence Services Office, there is no administration fee to do this.
Meal plan funds can not be spent on alcoholic beverages.
Special Benefits
To add excitment to the Dining Program, we will offer on a regular basis in the Alberta Room, special theme meals, mini specials and monotony breakers to add to the fun of your dining experience. It is extreamly important to us that you are completely satisfied and we encourage your comments. In fact we have many ways for you to give us your opinions, so please do not hesitate to talk to us in whatever way you are comfortable.
Rules & Guidelines
Throughout the length of the residential meal plan contract each student is committed to spend the minimum of the smallest plan, in other words if you are a Traditional Resident you must spend a minimum of $2,850.00 - Th Lighter Side Plan, if you are living in Global Village you must spend a minimum of $1,900.00 - The Sampler Plan. If the student still has a balance at the end of the semester and they have spent the minimum amount, the balance can be credited to the resident's Campus OneCard general purpose account. A request can be made to have the refund mailed to the student upon completion of the Meal Plan contract, as long as the resident has paid in full, all charges with Residence Services. A $50.00 administration fee will apply.
If you choose to change your meal plan within the first 21 days of the contract, there is no cost. The $50.00 administration fee will apply if a change is made after this time, changes can be made by contacting Residence Services. No changes can be made after March 15, 2011.
How To Purchase?
Both Resident and Convenience Meal Plans can be purchased through the Residence Services office located in the Dining Center. Convenience Plans may also be purchased through the cashiers in the Alberta Dining Room, any of our locations across campus (excluding Tim Hortons 1 Mac Hall, Brew & Blends and Barons Court) or online. Meal Plan privileges are non-transferable. Purchases for guests or family members cannot be done through the meal plan for tax exempt reasons.
