What is Balanced Choices?

Balanced Choices is our corporate nutrition program for our customers. We not only offer healthy food choices but we provide the direction and education regarding these choices.

Balanced Choices clearly guides customers to the healthy choices provided in our cafes. This is NOT just a signage program. Healthy food choices are attractively packaged and displayed to entice customers to make healthy choices more often as recommended by Canada’s Food Guide.

The Balanced Choices program provides a healthy backdrop to our sponsorship of the National Nutrition Month campaign in March, brought to Canadians by Dietitians of Canada

 

      

Balanced Choices was developed by a task force of registered dietitians, chefs and managers, and provides a wellness vision for our foodservices. Balanced Choices provides options to help all of our customers to “EAT, LEARN and LIVE

EAT reflects our nutrition standards, defining the quality of our food with customized meals and menus for our campus dining facilities.

LEARN focuses on providing students the nutrition and physical activity education they need to make wise food choices now, which will establish the foundation for them to enjoy a long and healthy life.

LIVE through physical activity and the promotion of a healthy campus environment, our programs assist students to bring our lessons to life.
