Born in Beirut, Lebanon and raised in Montreal, I lived most of my life moving between both countries that I love dearly. Canada is what I call home, and after roaming this great big land from east to west, working for large luxury hotel chains and casinos, I have finally decided to grow some roots in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I was blessed and lucky enough to work around the globe and discover different parts of the world’s cultures through people’s interactions, hospitality and local flavors
I look forward to get to know our students and ensure them a memorable time among the campuses, and work closely with our talented culinary team to elevate their dining experience
I was trained and achieved my chef’s certifications in my native Germany and worked my way up from Commis Chef, to Sous Chef before becoming the Executive Chef at the Winzer Stube in Ihringen. I learned the fundamental foundations of cooking through my experience and training in Germany and worked in hotels and restaurants including the Alte Weinstube Zur Traube in Freiburg, a Michelin-starred restaurant. This formal training and working with award-winning chefs taught me the utmost importance of using the best fresh ingredients and the best techniques. I am in the Food Industry for 38 years, and Executive Chef since 1996. I joined Compass Group- Canada in 2020, and Chartwells in 2021 as Executive Chef for KPU. The culinary team here at KPU strive to produce the best quality food for our customers and source as many local products as we can for our menus.
I have been with Compass Group Canada for over ten years starting at Victoria International Airport, spending 8 years at BCIT Burnaby, to now being a part of the KPU community.I have lived in Vancouver for 9 years and while I call this city my home, I was born and raised in Victoria on Vancouver Island. I enjoy travelling, salt water fishing, and cheering for the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Cowboys.
I have been in the food industry for over 8 years and found my passion in it. My career with Compass Group Canada starts from the east coast St. John’s to west coast Vancouver. At first, I worked in part time while studying in the Memorial University of Newfoundland, then shortly after graduation, I was promoted to food service manager. Experienced in different sectors and locations over the years, developed a variety skills and adaptability.
In a close relationship with students, my team and I will deliver exceptional customer service and focus on creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining environment.
