Julie has worked with Chartwells (Compass Group) since November 1993 most of which have been at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. Everyday is new and exciting around food service here on campus. Creating a fun 'home away from home' atmosphere along a great dining program is what we are all about.
I am very proud to have been recently trained as a Customer Service Coach with Chartwells and look forward to training all our great associates!
Chef Reinier started with Chartwells in November 2019 as Executive Chef. He comes to us with lots of great knowledge and passion for food! Prior to accepting this position he spent 11 years at the Digby Pines and lots of other great experience. Chef Reinier has many passions outside of the kitchen he enjoys to share with his two boys and fiance, including gardening, family time and travelling.
Cheryl was born in Truro, Nova Scotia in the 60's. She has been working for Chartwells since August 2004. She loves interacting with the young people on campus. She has come to think of them as her surrogate children. The position of Assistant Food Service Director is a new position and she is looking forward to all the new challenges. Coach with Chartwells and look forward to training all our great associates!
Glenda graduated from NSCC Culinary Arts Program and then went on to complete her Red Seal. She used to work for Chartwells many years ago until she decided to go to culinary school to strengthen her skills. We are very pleased that in August of 2011 she rejoined the team as a cook and has since been promoted as Unit Supervisor working closely along side our Chef and in the retail units. Glenda loves a new challenge and enjoys 'fun with food' in creating new dishes.
Chef Victor has worked with Chartwells at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College since August 1980. It all began cooking in the first kitchen on campus which was located in the basement of Trueman House. Chef Victor is proud of the interaction he has with all our students and guest on a daily basis and although he has now retired he still enjoys coming back to the kitchen from time to time.
Mary can be found each day working at Cox's Cupboard serving her customers. She has been with Chartwells since 1991. Mary also works many of our banquets and weddings. She has been trained in Serve Safe, WHMIS, 7 Essentials of Exceptional Customer Service, and First Aid.
"I enjoy my 4 grandchildren, my little flower garden, reading, and time with good friends, chatting and having coffee together. I have the best customers anyone could ask for! Love my job at Cox", says Mary.
Donnie also known by most as "Big D" is famous around here for his "Double Donnie Burgers" at the grill. Donnie has been working for us since September 1994. He has taken various trainings including the 7 Essentials of Exceptional Customer Service, CPR/First Aid, and WHMIS.
Sandra can be found in many areas of the business here at Dal AC. She is most commonly found greeting our students at the door each day or working at Haley Snack Bar. She has worked for Chartwells since October 2000 and has been trained in areas such as WHMIS, CPR/First Aid, Responsible Beverage Server's Course and the 7 Essentials of Exceptional Customer Service.
Merri can be found working in a variety of different locations in our unit. Most commonly she will be found working in the dining room whether as a checker, line work or dishroom. On some occasions you will also find her covering a shift at Cox's Cupboard. Merri has been employed with Chartwells since October 2007.
Margaret joined our team in September of 1999 and has been a very reliable associate working hard everyday in our dishroom. She has many valuable assets she brings to the team. Her training includes First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Course, and the 7 Essentials of Exceptional Customer Service. Margaret was our 2009 National Associate of the Year Winner with Chartwells!
Colleen started with our Dal AC team in September 2014. Colleen is a Red Seal Cook bringing lots of years of experience to our team. She is greatly known for satisfying many 'sweet tooths' around our dining services.
Melissa joined our team in October 2012. She can be quite often found working in the dishroom or catering banquets. Although a little quiet, she has a great sense of humour and loves having fun.
Angie started with Chartwells in June of 2013. She is mostly found working the morning shift on the line but can also be found working banquets. One of her best traits is the laughter she brings to the workplace.
Joanne began with our team in September 2012. She works at the Haley Snack Shop serving up our students, faculty and staff a hot cup of coffee or a light snack.
Kathy has been working for Chartwells since August 2003 working with the schools and quite often joining us here at Dal AC helping us with banquets. She joined us fulltime in September 2015 and can often be found greeting our students at the checker stand or as a week end Supervisor.
Cory started working for Chartwells in August 2011. He started in our pot room and is currently training in the kitchen as part of our culinary team. He loves display cooking and getting to know our students.
Janet joined our team in October 2015. She is a Mom of two boys. She can be found throughout our dining services but mostly serving our great customers at special banquet events.
Audrey joined our team in September 2017. She is mostly found greeting our great students and customers as they enter our dining hall. Her personable attitude and great smile is contagious. She is always willing to help and assist wherever she can.
Kate became a member of the team in March of 2017. Kate's friendly smile can be found working in the Jenkins kitchen but also over in Cox's Cupboard. In her spare time she enjoys her family, her dogs and her Jeep.
