Christilyn started her career in the food industry when she was 16 years old, working as a prep cook at Milestones. She then attended Ryerson University for Public Health and Safety, graduating in 2014. While in school, she worked at various places, both in the retail and food industry, and was a food service student manager for 3 years at Ryerson's residence building. After graduating, she started working with Chartwells and have been gaining valuable experiences through different progressive roles and locations. Her love for food continues to flourish as she learns more about it everyday. It has been an exciting journey so far and she is happy to be a part of the Parkside Chartwells family.
Chef Richard Rowe is a graduated of the 4 year Culinary Apprenticeship Program at SAIT Polytechnic , completing his apprenticeship under world renowned, Executive Chef Gerd Steinmeyer of the Palliser Hotel in Alberta. Richard’s career took flight, gaining national hotel experience with Crown Plaza, Marriot and Pan Pacific across Canada and international placements in exotic locations. Through his travels, Chef Richard immersed himself on the unique, indigenous flavors of the many vibrant cultures he experienced, which has left its mark on his professional pallet.
Chef Richard is the Executive Chef with Chartwells at Parkside Student Residence, where he brings his infamous enthusiasm for the culinary art.
Marites has been with Parkside Student Residence since the day it opened in 2015. She started as a General Help and worked her way up to a Cafeteria Supervisor, and now as the Assistant Manager. She knows the kitchen by heart and knows that customer service always comes first. She loves feeding the residents until they're full and always has fun experimenting with different treats and desserts. She's also known as the resident Grilled Cheese Master, and she will gladly make you one if you ask her nicely.
