Dietary Selections

SFU Dining Commons strives to provide enjoyable dining experiences for all guests, regardless of their dietary needs and food preferences. If you have a particular food allergy or dietary restriction, the Dining team is here to help. Please look for the logos or labels on menu items in making food choices.

Vegan & Vegetarian Diets: Our team celebrates vegetables and legumes and we work hard to ensure they are widely available upon many stations during all meal services. Some of these stations include Sprout, Hot Plate, Leaf Market, Create and more!

Halal: A variety of the meats used at the Dining Commons are halal, including the majority of chicken and beef burgers. Please check the menu labels or speak to a Dining Commons manager or chef with any specific questions.

The halal chicken used at Dining Commons is certified by the Halal Monitoring Authority.

Made without Gluten:  Dining Commons has options for students who have difficulty tolerating gluten. Dining Commons is not a gluten-free facility; however, staff do their best to prevent cross-contamination wherever possible. Dining Commons features many customized stations, where students can pick the ingredients, sauces and condiments. The Made-Without-Gluten Pantry is also a space that is available to approved students with wheat allergy, or gluten intolerance. Please fill out this form to learn if you qualify for access to this room. Kindly note this program is only available for students on a Meal Plan.

We welcome you to also reach out to our team any time to discuss your own specific needs. We are available in person any time at the Dining Commons, or you may set up a meeting by contacting our manager below:
